Terms of Use

Banterball is a free-to-play / subscription entertainment platform for football fans. It is NOT a sportsbook, gambling operator, or real-money betting service. League points, standings, and banter cards exist only for fun among friends and cannot be exchanged for cash, prizes of monetary value, or anything that constitutes a bet.

For entertainment scoring, a correct prediction typically scores 3 points, an incorrect prediction scores 1 participation point, and a missed prediction scores 0. Group tables count only fixtures that fall within that group's active window.

Users must be at least 13 years of age (or 16 in certain EU member states where a higher digital-consent age applies). If you are under the applicable age, you may not create an account.

• You sign in through supported third-party OAuth providers (such as Google, X / Twitter, or Facebook). You are responsible for the security of that third-party account, including passwords, recovery methods, and the devices you use.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your Banterball account.
• Banterball never receives your social-account password and will not post or act on those accounts on your behalf.
• If you suspect unauthorised access, secure your OAuth provider immediately and contact us. We may suspend or delete an account that is abused, impersonated, or used unlawfully.

Football banter, friendly rivalry, and teasing are encouraged. Keep it in the spirit of the game: sharp is fine; cruel or illegal is not.

The following are prohibited:

• Hate speech, harassment, racism, or targeted abuse.
• Explicit or pornographic content.
• Illegal betting links, unlicensed gambling promotion, or any attempt to use Banterball as a wagering channel.
• Impersonation, scraping, interfering with the Service, or attempting to manipulate predictions, standings, or AI outputs.

We may remove content, lock a group, or suspend an account where we reasonably believe these rules have been broken.

AI tabloid commentary, player roasts, and headlines are computer-generated satire for humor. They do not constitute factual reporting or official club statements. Outputs may be exaggerated, incomplete, or wrong.

• Do not treat Banter Cards, recaps, or group tabloids as news, injury updates, or club communications.
• You receive a non-exclusive, personal, non-commercial licence to save and share generated cards with friends. Banterball retains ownership of the Service, branding, and underlying systems.
• We are not responsible for personal disputes that arise if you share satirical content outside Banterball.

Captains of eligible groups may display a verified partner or sponsored-league badge, subject to Banterball's brand-safety rules.

• Rules for sponsored leagues: no promotion of unlicensed gambling, adult content, or illicit products.
• Sponsor creatives, names, and links must be accurate and lawful in the territories where the group is promoted.
• Banterball reserves the right to suspend non-compliant groups without notice, including by removing Verified Partner status, locking the group, or suspending related accounts.

Some features are available only with a paid Season Pass. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Prices, billing interval, and included features are shown at checkout and may vary by plan and territory.

• Solo Pro is an individual Season Pass that unlocks personal premium features such as full tabloid access for the subscribed period.
• Captain Season Pass is a group-level pass for captains who run a premium or sponsored league and need captain tools for that season.
• Season Pass fees are non-refundable once gameweek processing has begun for the billed period, except where a refund is required by mandatory consumer law.
• Unless stated otherwise at checkout, a Season Pass does not automatically convert Banterball into a gambling product and does not create cash prizes.

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not warrant that Banterball will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that fixture data from third-party sources will always be complete or real-time.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Banterball and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost points, lost enjoyment, or disputes arising from AI satire or user-generated banter. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers who reside in another country may bring claims in their local courts where mandatory law requires it. Personal data is handled under our Privacy Policy and the GDPR / UK GDPR (Data Protection Act 2018).

We may update these Terms from time to time. The revised version takes effect when posted on this page. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
